Every year, the tradition of Homecoming is fulfilled at Flomaton High School. This year’s homecoming theme is “Our Pride is Out of this World.” All of these homecoming festivities lead up to the homecoming football game on Friday against Escambia County High School’s Blue Devils.

On Monday, the theme was Space Jam, which meant that students were allowed to wear their favorite sports jersey, shirt, or the school colors of their favorite sports team/athlete. A variety of different teams were worn, with University of Alabama and Auburn University being the top favorites.

Tuesday’s theme was Space Hero day. Students could wear a shirt of their favorite space hero or their favorite superhero. Many students participated in the fun of dressing up as their favorite heroes and being creative in their design choices.

Planet 51, a 2009 animated Sci-fi/Adventure movie by Ilion Animation Studios, was the theme for Wednesday with students dressing up as aliens or their favorite character from the movie. This led to the whole school being a lighter green than usual.

Thursday was the complete opposite of Wednesday’s colors with the theme being “Blackout the Blue Devils.” Everyone was allowed to dress up in formal all-black attire or wear a black shirt with uniform bottoms. The day ended with tailgating beside the football field at 6PM and an outdoor pep rally at 6:30PM.
