Daquan “Money” Johnson Wins MVP

by Trinidy White

For the first time in Flomaton High School history, the football team won their first 3A State Championship. The quarterback, Daquan “Money” Johnson, who is a junior, was named 3A MVP at the AHSAA Super 7 Championship game. I recently interviewed him regarding the game and winning MVP.

How does it feel to win a state championship?

“Great. It adds on more feeling for it to be the school’s first one.”

At what point in the game did you know you were going to win?

“After I intercepted the ball with 5 minutes left in the game”

At the beginning of the season, did you think your team was going to go to state this year?

“Yes. Of course. We knew we were going to be good.”

What does football mean to you?

“It means a lot to me and makes me feel stress free.”
