The Hurricanes are headed to the playoffs for the first time in three years. It has been a long time coming for some of us older guys on the team, especially those of us that were on the 3-7 and 4-6 teams. We made up our minds during winter workouts of last year that we wanted a whole lot more from this year than that, and we are one step closer now.

The team started out on fire winning the first five games in a row. Then we sort of got complacent going into the Bayside game. We knew we were better than Bayside and took them lightly. They ended up handing us our first loss of the season. The next week we played our best game of the year against Mobile Christian, but made a few mistakes that cost us the game, losing 12 to 16. Then we played Thomasville the next week, and upset them on their homecoming 43 to 42. With that win, we put ourselves in the position to control our own destiny and give ourselves a playoff birth. We did just that the very next week by beating T.R. Miller 20 to 13, for the first time in 55 YEARS!!! We finished the regular season 7-3 and hope to keep it rolling one game at a time from here on out.
