The United States recently went through a 35-day-long federal government shutdown that ended January 25th. This government shutdown cost the U.S. economy around 11 billion dollars. It was the longest shutdown in history. The shutdown was caused by a strong disagreement between building a border wall between the United States and Mexico. Illegal immigrants from foreign countries are a huge problem in the United States today. President Trump believes that for in order for the illegal immigration to stop, a wall must be built and the security must be increased on our southern border since it is the most vulnerable due to Mexico being a neighboring country.
